During the years 1460 -1463, before being called to Urbino to sculpt column capitals with Federico da Montefeltro’s group of artisans, and cherubs, sphinxes, and cupids in the guest apartments of the Palazzo Ducale, Gregorio Di Lorenzo (1436ca - 1504) sculpted a Madonna with Child for the Hermitage of Camaldoli and a monumental marble tabernacle, both of which are still conserved inside the church of the Hermitage.
